A popular stand-up comedian and single father raises his 12-year-old son, helping him overcome the absence of his mother, who died a year after the boy was born. Father and son have struck an almost perfect balance when ‘the deceased’ suddenly returns and, forced by circumstances, becomes her own son’s childcarer. Little lies lead to absurd situations involving the three in an emotional whirlwind from which they can only emerge if they stay together.

Pavel Vesnakov’s debut film German Lessons (2020) premiered at the Cairo International Film Festival, winning the Best Actor Award for Julian Vergov’s performance. Pavel’s short films have won more than 30 awards worldwide. In 2014, Pavel’s third short film, Pride, premiered at the Locarno International Film Festival and later won the Grand Prix at the Clermont-Ferrand International Film Festival.
