After a heavy battle with the Russian army, a soldier from the Ukrainian special forces is rescued by a man of Bulgarian origin. Shortly after, the man meets serious resistance from the local community.

Nick Stanchev is a Bulgarian director, screenwriter, producer and actor. His first feature film as a writer and director is The Girl from the Vile Land. The second, Tango in the Tunnel (2019), won Best Actress award at the Motion Picture FF, Los Angeles. The Snowcrawler (horror-fantasy, 2021), and Children of Bendida (2023) followed. Nick has also directed several short films. Luxury Death (2016) was featured at multiple international festivals and was recognised as one of the Best 10 Bulgarian short films by the Bulgarian Film Academy.
