Advantage is a film by Georgi Djulgerov that combines documentary
and feature cinema in an innovative form. The screenplay was written by Djulgerov and Rousy Chanev, inspired by real events recounted by prosecutor Petko Zdravkov. The cinematography by Radoslav Spasov contributes to the film’s realism and strong visual impact. The music is by Bozhidar Petkov, and the set design by Rusi Doundakov and Georgi
Todorov – Jozi. Blending powerful social themes, authenticity, and cinematic boldness, the film won the Silver Bear for Best Director in Berlin in 1978 and is recognized as one of the pinnacles of Bulgarian cinema from the 1970s. To this day, Advantage remains the only Bulgarian film to have received a Silver Bear. It is also the first film in which Rusi Chanev fully reveals his talent as a film actor.

Other awards include: Best Cinematography to Radoslav Spasov from the Bulgarian Feature Film Festival (Varna, 1978); Golden Laceno Grand Prize to director Georgi Djulgerov and Best Actress award to Maria Statulova from the International Film Festival in Avellino, Italy, 1979; Awards of the Union of Bulgarian Filmmakers for (1977) – for Best Director (Georgi Djulgerov) and Best Cinematography (Radoslav Spasov).
