Barbаrа, a small-town girl, is pursuing her dream of becoming a pop-folk singer, but faces numerous obstacles that threaten her spiritual and physical survival. Along the way, the only good thing the young woman discovers in the hostile world around her is an unexpected friendship.
Marian Valev began his career as an actor in 1994, having graduated from the Krastyo Sarafov National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts, under Professor Encho Halachev. In 2019, he made his directorial debut with Bad Girl winning him the Best Debut Award at the Golden Rose Bulgarian Feature Film Festival. His second feature film explores the vibrant world of Chalga, showcasing the innovative use of a mobile phone as the main camera for the entire film.
