The Beggar, a codger having a strong sense of dignity, lives an isolated life on the banks of the Danube, in harmony with nature and the animals in his unusual zoological park. When the local oligarch, with the support of the mayor and the chief of police, initiates a dangerous nuclear waste storage project near the town, the Beggar turns out to be the only one who can, and dares to, oppose him.

Nadezhda Koseva graduated in Film and TV Directing from the Bulgarian National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts, and in Film Production from the Dutch Film and Television Academy. Founder and head of Kino Klas, a school for film education for children. Director of four short films, her full-length debut was the film Irina (2011). The Trap is her second full-length feature film.
