Earthly life seems meaningless to Forry (50), so he prefers the starry sky—he is a passionate amateur astronomer. Travelling by car with his best friend to the Danube Delta in Ukraine, he comes across Vilkovo, a town of Lipovans (Old Believers). It is there that the atheist Forry finds his way to faith and love. The poor but simple and straightforward life in a town of fishermen, with a woman who shares his love and respects him, finally gives Forry the meaning he has been searching for.

Born in Bessarabia, Ukraine, Vasil Barkov graduated in Film and TV Directing from the Bulgarian National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts. Director and/or producer of 15 award-winning feature films and documentaries. Member and chairman of international film festival juries, and national film commissions at the National Film Center and Bulgarian National Television. Member of the Culture Committee of Sofia Municipality. Founder and organiser of the Festival of Contemporary Bulgarian Cinema in Odesa. ‘Man of the Year’ for 2016 of the Association of Bulgarians in Ukraine.
