While trying to evade her father’s attempts to reconnect, ten-year-old Tamara notices that a celebration is in the works in her residential block. A neighbour is to be married, and the groom has come to ‘steal’ her. Sneaking in to the wedding with the groom’s help, Tamara gets a taste of the grown-up world, as well as some wine. Witnessing the groom’s manipulations, she has to decide whether to remain his friend or to steal the bride back from him.

Dimitar Donski began his career as a writer and producer on late night comedy TV. After becoming a Fulbright Scholar, he spent several years teaching screenwriting in the United States. He returned to Bulgaria to pursue cinema and stand-up comedy. The Groomsmaid is his first short film.
