In 1983, Borislava is held in custody after her boyfriend Julian had attempted to escape from Socialist Bulgaria. All she has to do is agree to cooperate with the State Security against him and they will set her free… Shortly after her release, Borislava marries Julian in prison, but the distrust begins to tear apart her family and her husband.

Kristina Spassovska is a Bulgarian scriptwriter and film director. In 2018, she graduated with a Masters of Fine Arts in Film Directing from EICAR, Paris, with her short film Motherland, selected for the Zagreb International Film Festival and Sofia International Film Fest. Kristina is currently working on her debut full-length feature film, 40, Maria Luisa Boulevard.
