Irina arrives at her family’s country house for the first time in years on a rainy day in spring. There, she meets Boris, a neighbour and childhood friend whom she hasn’t seen in a long time. Little do they know that uncovering past secrets might make them love bad weather.

Yana Lekarska holds an MFA in Film Directing from both Chung-Ang University in Seoul, South Korea, and New Bulgarian University, Sofia. Her debut feature film, Because I Love Bad Weather, premiered in March 2024 in the International Competition Section of the Sofia International Film Festival. Yana is a programmer for the Dhaka IFF (Bangladesh) and a mentor for the screenplay lab West Meets East, organised by the Dhaka IFF. Her latest project as an executive producer, the short film A Summer’s End Poem (China 2024), received the Special Prize for best short film from the Generation International Jury at Berlinale 2024.
